  Meet the Staff

Board of Directors

Executive Director: Supervises the program director with regards to facility management and organizational problems. Job performance evaluations are done yearly. Another important aspect of supervision is discussion of agency relationships with police, hospital and any community service liaisons. The executive director gives supervision and guidance to ensure that the program director is running the agency according to state and local policies, regulations and statutes as well.

Program Director:  Supervises the hot-line supervisor, mobile unit social Workers and nurse practitioners. Supervision is given to the hot-line supervisor about staff management and general personnel issues including manpower, training and performance.  The program director gives supervision to social workers and nurse practitioners reviewing team mobile crisis procedures, crisis work, hospitalization, referral and follow-up work.  Skills, techniques, quality of care, appropriateness of care, protocol, skill enhancement/new training workshops and concerns are discussed both in individual supervision as well as in group supervision. Guidance on difficult cases is available during supervision or as an ongoing process, time permitting.  Job performance evaluations are done as well.  The program director also is actively involved in the staff's professional development including community educational events and training seminars. (www.bcresponse.org/employment)  In addition, the program director must ensure that staff adheres to program policies that define the relationship, protocol and procedures between the crisis team, the police and hospital personnel in the event of voluntary or involuntary hospitalization. (www.dshs.state.tx.us/mhsacsr/appendix3.pdf, p. 9).

Assistant Program Director:  As a supervisor the assistant program director does yearly job performance evaluations for the hot-line supervisor and the mobile unit social workers and nurse practitioners.  He/she also provides supervision to these staff members in the program director's absence.

Hot-line Supervisor: Supervises the hot-line social workers and interns. Supervision and training is given on how to handle crisis calls, maintaining appropriate logs and progress notes (www.dshs.state.tx.us/mhsacsr/appendix3.pdf, p. 20), confidentiality of information, and ethical issues in dealing with crisis calls (www.dshs.state.tx.us/mhsacsr/appendix3.pdf, p.13).  Similar to the program director's supervisory responsibilities, the hot-line supervisor must also meet both individually and as a group with the other social workers and interns to help with client problems, skill enhancement, protocol, quality of care, appropriateness of care, and techniques as well as providing job performance evaluations and feedback. Guidance on difficult cases is available during supervision or as an ongoing process, time permitting.
